Another year, another SXSW Interactive

It’s like Christmas Eve for tech geeks.

Tomorrow, Austin will welcome an anticipated 35,000+ technology enthusiasts for SXSW Interactive, a week-long festival exploring the latest and greatest trends in startup culture, design, development, marketing, media and so much more.

Whether you’re a first-time attendee or a seasoned vet, SXSW Interactive offers a multitude of opportunities to learn from and connect with some of today’s best and brightest.

We’ll be in the thick of things again this year. Having a hard time culling through the hundreds of sessions to craft the perfect schedule? We’ve got a few “can’t miss” recommendations to check out in between enjoying the breakfast tacos and themed cocktails.

Power of Content — Beyond the Clutter

When: March 12, 9:30-10:30am

Where: Spectrum Reach Red Room Lounge, 306 E. 3rd Street

In an era where consumers have more choices than ever on what, how and where they watch content, advertisers have the growing challenge of executing successful cross-platform campaigns that resonate with their audiences and deliver real ROI. In this unofficial session, Marin Floreani, CEO of our client FlorSports, will join execs from Spectrum, NCC and Bunnygraph to discuss today’s most important content innovations and technology platforms to capture not just consumer share of mind, but also share of wallet.

NYTxATX

When: March 11, 11:00am

Where: The Bellmont, 305 W. 6th Street

We work with national media every day, so we’d be remiss to pass up the opportunity to see and hear from some of today’s media greats. This New York Times-hosted event offers a day chock full of content covering some of the biggest topics and challenges in media today — from how to escape fake news and driving innovation in journalism and marketing to the marriage between advertising and publishing and the future of The New York Times itself. Attendees will get to hear the perspectives of some big names — Dan Rather; PolitiFact editor in chief Angie Holan; The New York Times editor in chief Jake Silverstein; and Texas Tribune CEO and co-founder Evan Smith just to name a few. Whether you’re in PR, advertising, publishing — or just a startup looking to better understand the media world as you work to spread the good word — this should definitely get a coveted spot on your SXSW lineup. Oh, and if you weren’t already convinced, they’ll also have beer and food.

Connected Retail: Clicks and Mortar Meet Up

When: March 11, 9:30-10:30am

Where: JW Marriott, 110 E. 2nd Street, Room 207

Sitting through panels not your thing? If you’re more of a social being, SXSW Interactive offers a myriad of meet up opportunities — and this one is definitely on our list. With tech clients focused on both the digital and physical sides of retail, this is a hot topic of conversation among our team. Moderated by Sarah Malcolm of The News Funnel, this 3rd annual meet up will bring together retailers and their tech partners to discuss the growing trend for online brands to open physical stores and how online experiences can expand the brick and mortar shopping experience.
